Content marketing for your online business is an integral part of your overall marketing effort. If you believe that the content on your website or blog is one of your primary strengths, you need to make people aware of its existence. If you're already a known brand, this might not be a problem, but if you are in the process of creating your online presence through your content, then content marketing is unavoidable.

Putting a Google +1 button on your blog or website is an excellent way of letting visitors recommend your particular web pages or blog posts to Google. If you noticed, the Google +1 button has already been appearing on some search result pages where you can directly recommend the link and improve its visibility by clicking the button. It has great SEO advantage. With Google’s new social networking platform Google Plus is rapidly gaining ground and with more and more people joining it, putting a Google +1 button also allows them to immediately share your links through their Google Plus profiles.

Content strategy is a lot more than simply publishing content on a regular basis. No matter how wonderful your content is and no matter how useful it is, unless people are really getting to access it and unless it is really making an impact, it is waste of time. A well-defined content strategy means you know exactly what you're trying to achieve through your content. It can be anything like generating more search engine traffic, educating your visitors, publishing news updates regarding your website, et cetera. Define the purpose, and work towards it.

I am gradually wetting my feet in the turbulent pool of social media marketing. Although I'm always a late entrant into all Internet trends eventually it is the business side that I come face-to-face with. It happened with connectivity: I got my Internet connection quite late compared to my friends but once I got it, while my friends were chatting and downloading "naughty stuff" I was looking for business opportunities on the Web. Similarly I started publishing a business blog in those days when we manually used to add pages under a folder and nobody had heard of Blogger and Wordpress. Sadly, I am still in the beginning phase of blogging while creating multiple successful blog for my clients.

The same pattern almost happened with social media: although I adopted social media in its early days I don't have a significant presence. Ironically I am already consulting 4 clients (2 from Europe and 2 from America) devise and implement their social media strategies. Anyway, in this block post I have endeavoured to communicate my understanding of social media marketing.
