Make your online copywriting as conversational as possible
Online copywriting is all about talking to your readers and engaging them in a conversation. Since you cannot personally be present on your website the only mode of interaction you have got is through your copywriting. Your online copywriting should directly talk to your visitors and it should always be written in first person. Never address your visitor as he or she, address him or her as "you" because you’re actually addressing to the person who is reading your copy.
This is why your online copywriting should be conversational in nature. Use small sentences as we use them in day-to-day talking and use regular words. Unless you’re writing some literary critique don’t use intricate words and expressions. Make your language as easy to understand as possible.
As an online copywriter you should be able to convince your readers that you are concerned about them; you are concerned about their well-being and you want to offer them something that can really benefit them; only then they will listen to you attentively. Every person wants to know what is in it for him or her. Avoid using passive words such that "this has been done", "the product had been improved", etc. Instead use "this was done" and "the product was improved". When you need to talk about yourself don’t say, "the owner of this website wants to say"; use "I want to say", or "we want to say".
