Do you want your website designed or developed

From 2004 onwards I started providing content and before that I was designing and developing websites. If you search for amrit hallan on Google you’ll find lots of web design and development tutorials I wrote in order to generate traffic for my business. I was working under Bytesworth.com. I still have the domain but I’m not doing much there.

I stopped designing websites because I was targeting all the wrong clients (I was inexperienced, you see). But I never stopped upgrading my web design and development skills, and besides, I kept working for my old clients, and for those who somehow made out that I could make their websites too. So once in a while I end up with a project, and the client ends up happier.

So I’ve decided to mention this on my website. I’m open to taking up web design and development projects — USD 40 per hour. A typical project takes up around 5-10 hours; it depends on what you want to achieve. Corporate websites often involve more than 100 hours.

I’m comfortable in the following fields:

  • HTML/XHTML
  • CSS
  • PHP
  • JavaScript (totally OK with JQuery, Prototype, Scriptaculous, etc.)
  • WordPress (I can use it as your website backend CMS and I can also create blogging themes)
  • Photoshop/GIMP (to an extent; I’m not a master, but I know much to create websites)
  • SEO — both content-based and source code based

If you are wondering why you would let me design or develop your website, here are a few reasons:

  • I design my blogs and websites on my own (including this one)
  • I’ve been into implementing website solutions since 2001 whether it involves creating layouts, programming in PHP and JavaScript, writing content or SEO services.
  • I have this fetish for using the most contemporary conventions and methodologies while creating websites, whether it involves creating CSS layouts or using cutting-edge scripting libraries.
  • I’m closely working with lots of online professionals from all over the world.
  • I know how to optimize content and design for search engines.
  • I have a social media presence; it means I’m not going to disappear just like that, leaving you in the lurch.

So if you want a website, let’s give working together a chance. It’s not going to cost you much even if things don’t work out. You can pay for every 2 hours of work done initially, so at the most you’ll lose just $80 (plus 5% processing fee).
